FBI Joins Search for Missing Indian Student in Punta Cana

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has entered the fray in the search for Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old student from the University of Pittsburgh who vanished during a spring break trip in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Dominican police are interviewing individuals who accompanied Konanki prior to her disappearance from the Riu Republica Hotel beachfront in the early hours of March 6. The hotel disclosed that a power outage at the time led many guests to the beach.
Dominican President Luis Abinader expressed concern over the incident and highlighted the safety of tourists visiting the island, despite the ongoing investigation instigated by Konanki's family, who traveled to Punta Cana seeking broader inquiry into her mysterious disappearance.
