Bribery Scandal Unfolds at Tribal Development Project

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has apprehended two employees of the district's Integrated Tribal Development Project for allegedly soliciting a bribe.
Harish Marathe, a senior clerk, and Hemant Kirpan, a junior clerk, faced arrest after a complaint surfaced with Thane's ACB unit. Accusations revealed they sought a bribe to expedite a mother's medical bills.
Though their initial demand was Rs 23,000, they reduced it to Rs 15,000. Upon the complainant's report, ACB set a trap, catching Kirpan accepting the bribe for Marathe. An FIR under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been filed, and further investigation proceeds.
