Norway and Iceland have condemned Israel's plans to evacuate Palestinians from Gaza, labeling the potential forceful displacement illegal and counterproductive to peace efforts aimed at establishing a Palestinian state. This pronouncement comes amid heightened military operations targeting Hamas.

Israel's Security Cabinet recently approved an agenda that may encompass controlling the Gaza Strip, affecting 2.3 million residents, with a chokehold on aid inflow. In a joint statement, Norway's Espen Barth Eide and Iceland’s Thorgerdur Katrin Gunnarsdottir stressed that such actions could lead to escalated violence and undermine international law.

The foreign ministers emphasized the necessity of resuming ceasefire talks and releasing hostages unconditionally. Meanwhile, discussions between the U.S. and Israel consider a post-war administration in Gaza akin to post-2003 Iraq, though similar strategies previously met with criticism.
