Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made a strong appeal to citizens on Friday, urging them to reject fake news sourced from vested interests.
Sarma called for unity under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and emphasized the need for responsible citizenship. He urged people to report attempts to undermine the country's armed forces and adhere strictly to official guidelines.
Earlier, false claims of a suicide attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri and a drone attack in Punjab circulated. These were dismissed by the government as fake news, urging the public to trust verified sources only.
