A resident of Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh was apprehended for reportedly sharing content supportive of Pakistan on Instagram, law enforcement revealed on Friday.
The arrest was validated by Sambhal Superintendent of Police, Krishna Kumar, after identifying a controversial post made by Mohammad Riyaz, aged 25, endorsing Pakistan and incorporating the Pakistani flag as his social media profile picture.
Riyaz's contentious post included statements such as, "No matter what happens, we have to support Pakistan." Due to these actions, he faces charges under Section 152, which addresses actions jeopardizing India's sovereignty and unity, and he has been placed in judicial custody.
