The Supreme Court has demanded an update from the Tamil Nadu government regarding a potential transfer of the investigation into Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) H M Jayaram's case to either the special branch or CID. Jayaram is facing suspension due to multiple allegations, including an alleged kidnapping case.
Senior advocate Siddharth Dave representing the Tamil Nadu government stated that the suspension could persist pending the investigation into various criminal allegations against Jayaram, not solely due to the June 16 high court order. This position aligns with governmental regulations on handling ongoing investigations.
The court requested more information on the possibility of transferring the case to a different high court judge or investigative body. The focus remains on ensuring an unbiased examination, with Tamil Nadu officials complying with the Supreme Court's directive and discussing the suspension in parallel.
