Tanker Traffic Reroutes Amid Strait of Hormuz Tensions

Following U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, three oil and chemical tankers have altered their routes away from the Strait of Hormuz, heightening concerns over potential Iranian reprisals. The vessels have anchored off the UAE coast and near Omani waters as regional maritime activities remain tense and uncertain.

Three oil and chemical tankers, previously heading towards the Strait of Hormuz, have diverted their courses amid escalating tensions following U.S. airstrikes on Iran's nuclear sites, according to Marine Traffic data on Monday.

The tankers, Marie C and Red Ruby, dropped anchor near Fujairah along the coast of the United Arab Emirates without carrying any cargo. Meanwhile, the Kohzan Maru was observed navigating the Gulf of Oman close to Omani maritime boundaries.

Shipping giants, Japan's Nippon Yusen and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, have advised their vessels to limit time spent traversing the crucial strait, as maritime operations remain on high alert over possible retaliatory threats from Iran.
