Foiled Terror Plot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Two Militants Killed

In a significant breakthrough, police in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province prevented a major terrorist attack by killing two suspected militants. Official sources on Monday confirmed the operation's success.

The counter-terrorism department (CTD) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police conducted an overnight intelligence-based raid in Peshawar's Urmar Payan area, formerly a significant Afghan refugee camp location.

A suicide vest, an SMG rifle, and a large cache of ammunition were recovered. The CTD identified the suicide bomber as Munir Ahmed, a fugitive traced since last November. The plot's foiling comes amid a 5% increase in militant attacks, according to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies.
