A Parliamentary panel has called on the government to urgently reform the e-daakhil platform to improve consumer case resolution rates, which currently stand at a low 23%. Chairperson Kanimozhi Karunanidhi emphasized the need for concrete steps, including the implementation of a robust monitoring mechanism to track performance and reduce backlog.
The committee lauded the digitized approach but stressed that technological convenience must be supplemented by strong administrative controls to ensure compliance with timelines and efficient case management. Despite the platform's benefits in easing the filing process, persistent delays and inadequate responses to prior recommendations remain a significant concern.
Additionally, the committee stressed the need for a stable financial framework for the Price Stabilisation Fund (PSF), arguing that reliance on unpredictable funding sources brings delays in market interventions. They called for data-driven assessments to aid in budgeting, thereby ensuring timely and effective responses to market fluctuations.
