A bizarre episode unfolded in Bihar's Nawada district as a dog, dubbed 'dogesh babu,' reportedly applied for a residence certificate. This strange occurrence was revealed by 2016 batch IAS officer Ravi Prakash, who serves as the district magistrate of Nawada, via his social media.
The attempted impersonation involved applicants filling in the canine details with parental names like 'dogesh ke papa' and 'dogesh ki mummy.' This marks the third peculiar instance in a week, following similar schemes in Masaurhi and East Champaran where unusual names were utilized.
The district, notorious for cyber fraud, has taken action with FIRs registered and cyber experts tracing the culprits. The surge is believed to be tied to the revision of electoral rolls, necessitating residence certificates, a controversy before the Supreme Court due to the limited list of accepted identity documents.
