VHP Controversy: Congress and the Nuns' Arrest Showdown

The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) publicly criticized Congress, particularly Rahul Gandhi, for supporting protests against the arrest of two nuns in Chhattisgarh. The nuns face allegations of human trafficking and forced conversions.

The arrest led to Congress members from Kerala raising the issue in Lok Sabha during Zero Hour, labeling it as 'deeply disturbing'. The Revolutionary Socialist Party member N K Premachandran and other opposition MPs supported Congress in condemning the arrests.

VHP's national secretary general, Surendra Jain, claimed Congress and its allies are defending the nuns to obstruct justice. He demanded a stronger law against illegal religious conversions, citing repeated interventions whenever churches are implicated in unlawful actions.
