The incident occurred on July 19 near Bhargavi River in Puri district. The victim, now recovering at AIIMS-Delhi, endured severe burn injuries, prompting an intensive inquiry led by DSP-ranked officers.

Authorities have collected crucial evidence, though no direct suspects have been identified, and are handling the case with care to prioritize the girl's recovery.
