China is positioning itself as a facilitator of peace in Myanmar, following the war-torn nation's decision to lift a national emergency, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson announced on Thursday.

The Chinese government is prepared to engage in efforts to promote dialogue and reconciliation among Myanmar's divided factions, as detailed by spokesperson Guo Jiakun during a regular press conference.

Amidst these developments, Myanmar's military regime, led by Min Aung Hlaing, has established an 11-member commission tasked with overseeing an election, according to a report from state media.
