Punjab Police launched a statewide crackdown on anti-social elements on Thursday, targeting individuals involved in multiple cases under the Arms Act over the past three years, officials report.

Directed by Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav as part of special pre-Independence Day operations, simultaneous raids were conducted across the state.

Special DGP (Law and Order) Arpit Shukla stated that the day-long operation involved 120 police teams with over 1,000 personnel, aiming to trace those involved and ensure a return to law-abiding lifestyles. Furthermore, over 400 checkpoints were set up across Punjab to monitor their activities.
