A petition has been submitted to the Supreme Court, requesting a reconsideration of its previous decision not to order an FIR against Delhi High Court Judge Yashwant Varma. The plea comes after burnt cash was discovered at his official home.
The petition, filed by three lawyers and a chartered accountant, asks for a review of the court's August 7 verdict. That judgment dismissed their case, noting that the petitioners failed to present evidence of any formal complaint or communication with the authorities regarding the FIR.
In response to the situation, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has set up a three-member committee, led by Justice Aravind Kumar, to investigate the accusations against Justice Varma.
