Crackdown on Crime and Narcotics in Samba and Jammu
Police in Samba and Jammu districts have detained a criminal and a drug smuggler in separate incidents. Alex Matoo from Samba, involved in various offences, was booked under PSA, while drug peddler Chirag Attri from Jammu was arrested under PIT-NDPS Act, continuing their criminal activities.

In a robust enforcement drive, authorities in Samba and Jammu districts have tightened the noose on criminal activities with the detention of two notorious figures involved in crime and drug smuggling.
In one incident, Alex Matoo, a well-known criminal with a lengthy record of theft and gang activities, was apprehended by authorities in Samba district. Officials confirmed that Matoo was detained under the Public Safety Act and shifted to Poonch District Jail on the orders of the Samba District Magistrate.
Meanwhile, in a separate crackdown, Jammu district's drug peddler Chirag Attri was arrested under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Despite numerous FIRs, Attri continued his drug trade, leading to his detention in Udhampur District Jail following authorization from the divisional commissioner of Jammu.
