Customs Bust Ganja Smuggling at International Airport

Customs authorities intercepted two passengers attempting to smuggle 11.9 kg of Ganja through an international airport. The passengers, arriving from Thailand, were arrested under the NDPS Act after their baggage concealed 5.9 kg and 6 kg of the drug in separate incidents.

Customs officials have successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle nearly 12 kilograms of Ganja at the international airport. This bust led to the arrest of two passengers caught appropriating the illegal substance.

The plot unraveled when authorities scrutinized two separate individuals arriving from Thailand. On September 18, meticulous examination of their bags revealed the smuggled Ganja, as confirmed by the Customs Department on Sunday.

The passengers, one male and one female, were purportedly promised financial rewards for transporting the drugs. Each case involved hidden cannabis quantities of 5.9 kg and 6 kg respectively, leading to their arrest under the stringent NDPS Act.
