UN Criticizes Israel's Intercept of Gaza Aid Ships

On Thursday, the UN rights office expressed strong disapproval of Israel's interception of civilian aid vessels headed for Gaza, stating it contributes to the unlawful blockade of the region.
The UN emphasized that, as the occupying power, Israel holds the responsibility to ensure the delivery of food and medical supplies to Gaza. Alternatively, it should facilitate unbiased humanitarian efforts swiftly and without obstruction. This statement was made by UN spokesperson Thameen Al-Kheetan in an email communication with Reuters.
The spokesperson further urged Israel to uphold the rights of individuals detained, emphasizing the importance of allowing them to legally challenge their detention status.
