Honouring Andhra’s Sacred Heritage

Addressing a packed gathering, Prime Minister Modi began his speech by invoking the blessings of Lord Narasimha Swamy of Ahobilam, Shri Mahanandishwara Swamy of Mahanandi, and Guru Shri Raghavendra Swamy of Mantralayam, wishing prosperity and wellbeing for the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Citing verses from the Dwadasha Jyotirlinga Stotram, the Prime Minister noted that Lord Somnath and Lord Mallikarjuna, two of the twelve Jyotirlingas, are mentioned together — symbolizing the spiritual unity between Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. “It is my fortune,” he said, “to have been born on the land of Somnath, to serve Baba Vishwanath’s Kashi, and to now receive the blessings of Srisailam.”

The Prime Minister also paid tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the Shivaji Spurti Kendra and honoured the memory of great Shaivite saints such as Allama Prabhu and Akkamahadevi, as well as revered freedom fighters including Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy Garu and Hari Sarvottama Rao, whose sacrifices shaped India’s history.

Andhra Pradesh: A Land of Pride, Potential, and Progress

Describing Andhra Pradesh as a land of culture, courage, and creativity, the Prime Minister praised its rich heritage and its leadership in science, innovation, and entrepreneurship. “What Andhra Pradesh needs is the right vision and leadership,” he said, adding that under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu Garu and Pawan Kalyan Garu, the state now has both visionary leadership and full support from the Central Government.

He lauded the close coordination between Delhi and Amaravati, asserting that both governments are united in purpose and partnership to accelerate growth. “The 21st century belongs to India,” Shri Modi declared, “and Andhra Pradesh will play a pivotal role in achieving the goal of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.”

₹13,430 Crore Projects to Power Andhra’s Growth

The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for an array of projects in roads, railways, energy, trade, and urban infrastructure, designed to strengthen regional connectivity and industrial capacity.

Key announcements included:

  • ₹3,000 crore Transmission Project: A major initiative to enhance energy infrastructure and power reliability across Andhra Pradesh.

  • Natural Gas Pipeline Project (Srikakulam–Angul): Expected to supply clean energy to nearly 15 lakh households, reducing dependence on traditional fuels.

Energy Revolution: From Blackouts to Power Surplus

Calling energy security the backbone of national development, the Prime Minister reflected on India’s transformation in the power sector. “Eleven years ago, India struggled with blackouts and shortages — thousands of villages lacked even electric poles. Today, every village is electrified, and per capita consumption has risen from less than 1,000 units to 1,400 units.”

He noted that Andhra Pradesh has emerged as a hub of India’s energy revolution, with massive investments in clean and renewable energy. The new transmission projects, he added, will “not only light up homes but also power industries, innovation, and the digital economy.”

Technological Milestone: Google’s First AI Hub in India

In a historic announcement, the Prime Minister revealed that Google will establish India’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hub in Andhra Pradesh. The initiative, he said, would position the state as a global centre for AI innovation and digital infrastructure.

The AI Hub will include state-of-the-art data centres, high-capacity computing facilities, and renewable energy systems, creating thousands of high-skilled jobs and driving research in AI-driven industries.

Additionally, the International Subsea Gateway project will bring multiple undersea cable networks to Visakhapatnam, establishing it as a key global digital connectivity node for Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific region. “This gateway,” Shri Modi said, “will connect India to the world and the world to Andhra Pradesh.”

Building Aatmanirbhar Andhra: From Drones to Defence

Reaffirming the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, the Prime Minister announced several high-tech initiatives designed to enhance India’s self-reliance in defence and manufacturing.

He inaugurated the Advanced Night Vision Factory at Nimmaluru, which will produce night vision equipment, missile sensors, and drone defence systems, boosting India’s defence exports. Referring to Operation Sindoor, Shri Modi said India’s indigenous defence systems have already proved their capability on the global stage.

Further, he expressed satisfaction that Kurnool is being developed as India’s Drone Hub, stating that the emerging drone industry will revolutionize sectors like agriculture, logistics, mining, and disaster management. “Kurnool will soon be the powerhouse of India’s drone innovation,” he declared.

GST Reforms and Citizen-Centric Development

Shri Modi highlighted ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing ease of living and improving financial inclusion. He informed the gathering that income up to ₹12 lakh is now tax-free, and praised the successful rollout of affordable healthcare through the Ayushman Bharat initiative and Jan Aushadhi Kendras providing low-cost medicines.

He also announced that major GST reductions had been implemented from the first day of Navratri, launching the “Super GST – Super Savings” campaign under the leadership of Nara Lokesh Garu. These reforms, he said, would generate ₹8,000 crore in annual savings for the people of Andhra Pradesh and further boost consumer confidence during the festive season.
