In a significant breakthrough, Odisha Police have successfully dismantled a robbery operation, arresting two key suspects and retrieving Rs 5 lakh in cash. The arrests were made after a series of investigations into thefts and robberies across Koraput and Malkangiri districts.
The two men, Shantiraj Nag and Abinash Maharana, both from Jeypore town, have been implicated in multiple theft incidents. The investigation was initiated following a complaint from Radha Mohan Pattnaik of Hanaguda, Jeypore, after a reported burglary.
During questioning, Nag admitted to the offences and revealed they sold some stolen goods to a local goldsmith. Police have transferred the recovered cash to Malkangiri district authorities for further legal proceedings.
