On Tuesday, activist Anjali Damania claimed she was barred from accessing a contentious land plot in Mundhwa, linked to an illegal sale involving Parth Pawar, son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Damania, vocal about the issue and calling for Ajit Pawar's resignation, reported that Botanical Survey of India (BSI) staff denied her entry. She alleged confrontation with a BSI director who refused her inspection request.
Initially designated for research, the land became controversial following a Rs 300-crore sale to Amadea Enterprises LLP. Concerns arose over governmental ownership and a Rs 21 crore stamp duty exemption. Despite charges against several parties, Parth Pawar has not been implicated, as Ajit Pawar later announced the deal's cancellation.
