Sri Lanka is grappling with the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah, which has wreaked havoc, leading to widespread devastation and a death toll of 153, with 191 people still missing. The country's infrastructure has suffered, forcing the declaration of a state of emergency.

In response, a top Indian diplomat has made efforts to assist Indian nationals stranded at Colombo airport, ensuring they received essential food and water. New Delhi has pledged to facilitate their swift return home. India's relief efforts include sending 27 tonnes of aid through Operation Sagar Bandhu.

The Indian High Commission has set up emergency help desks to further support citizens, while India's proactive measures, including sending National Disaster Response Force teams and helicopters, underscore its commitment to assisting its neighbor in crisis.
