Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff, expressed regret over the treatment journalists received during the National Defence Academy's 149th Passing Out Parade, terming it 'unfortunate'. He criticized the inappropriate tone and language used by a few officers.

Journalists, dissatisfied with the media seating that hindered their event coverage, protested and exited the event after a senior officer allegedly told them to leave if they were unhappy. The incident led to a formal complaint filed with the Navy chief.

Admiral Tripathi has directed the NDA Commandant and Defence PRO Ankush Chavan to engage with journalists in resolving the matter. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive relationship with the media. Despite the controversy, the NDA has not yet released an official statement.
