Ensuring Safety at Mata Vaishno Devi: A Security Review
The security of the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir was reviewed by Police DGP Nalin Prabhat. Accompanied by other senior officers, he visited Katra and chaired a high-level meeting. The site is monitored through an Integrated Command and Control Centre with advanced technology.

In a bid to bolster security measures at the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, the Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police, Nalin Prabhat, conducted a comprehensive review on Sunday, according to officials.
Joined by Inspector General of Police for the Jammu zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, the DGP took a first-hand look at the security operations starting from Katra, the base camp for pilgrims headed to the revered site atop Trikuta hills, and led a high-level meeting, as confirmed by authorities.
The site is under constant vigilance with the Integrated Command and Control Centre in the holy town, which operates over 700 CCTV cameras enabled with facial and gesture recognition, as well as AI to facilitate real-time monitoring and coordination among security forces, enhancing the safety of the pilgrimage.
