In the wake of a pepper spray attack at London's Heathrow Airport, UK police have made two further arrests, intensifying an investigation into the incident that left 21 people with minor injuries. The Metropolitan Police detained a 24-year-old man suspected of robbery and assault, alongside a 23-year-old woman suspected of conspiring to commit robbery. Both remain in custody as inquiries continue.
The incident unfolded in the Terminal 3 car park, where two women were reportedly robbed of their suitcases. During the robbery, a noxious substance, believed to be pepper spray, was deployed, inadvertently affecting bystanders. This resulted in emergency medical treatment on-site, with five individuals requiring hospital care. Police clarified that terrorism was not associated with the incident, describing it as an argument among known parties.
Commander Peter Stevens emphasized public safety while thanking locals for their cooperation. Authorities urged anyone with relevant information to step forward as the investigation proceeds to resolve any outstanding elements of the case.
