In response to the Arpora fire tragedy, authorities sealed Goya The Night Club in North Goa, citing illegal construction on agricultural land. The enforcement action followed an order issued by the Bardez taluka mamlatdar.
The club, located in Vagator, is accused of being built on farmland without the required zoning change to commercial status. The club's management did not comment on the matter.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has directed a crackdown on illegal nightclubs after a fire at Birch by Romeo Lane club resulted in 25 fatalities last Saturday. The nightclub's owner has seven days to respond to the allegations.
