Mumbai police have dismantled a significant mephedrone (MD) manufacturing operation in Maharashtra's Satara district, resulting in the seizure of contraband valued at Rs 115 crore. Three individuals were apprehended during the raid, officials reported on Saturday.

A team from the Ghatkopar Unit of the Crime Branch collaborated with local law enforcement to uncover the drug manufacturing facility hidden inside a cowshed in Savari village, Jawali taluka, last Friday, according to a police official.

The arrests of three workers from West Bengal were made at the scene. This operation stemmed from earlier enforcement efforts on October 9, which included the apprehension of two drug peddlers and seizure of 136 grams of mephedrone, leading to the capture of two suppliers from Thane and Pune. The investigation implicated the cowshed as the production site, where police confiscated 7.5 kg of mephedrone, 38 kg of liquid mephedrone, and other raw materials and chemicals, culminating in the substantial Rs 115 crore drug bust.
