The Electoral Registration Officers in West Bengal are preparing to issue hearing notices to an estimated 32 lakh unmapped voters, marking the next phase of the Special Intensive Revision, officials said.
Initial notices will be distributed from December 18, as state officials aim to address discrepancies between the draft electoral rolls and previous records. Voters whose information remains unverified will be advised to prepare specified documents for upcoming hearings.
Officials will conduct hearings at government offices, while discrepancies are reviewed to finalize the list of affected voters. Special Roll Observer Subrata Gupta is expected to assess the ongoing voter verification process in north Bengal shortly.
