Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy expressed gratitude to the European Council after it pledged 90 billion Euros in assistance to Kyiv for the next two years. This substantial support is seen as a crucial bolster to Ukraine's resilience against ongoing challenges.
On Friday, leaders of the European Union made the decision to borrow money to fund Ukraine's defense efforts against Russia. This approach bypasses using frozen Russian assets and prevents potential divisions over such an unprecedented financing plan.
Zelenskiy emphasized the importance of keeping Russian assets frozen while assuring that Ukraine now enjoys a financial security guarantee for the years ahead. The exchange rate stands at $1 equaling 0.8534 Euros.
