Protest for Resettlement: Voices of Manipur's Displaced

On Monday, hundreds of internally displaced individuals in Manipur rallied to demand intervention from Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla regarding their resettlement.
Organized by the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity, the protesters began their march from Kwakeithel in Imphal West district towards Lok Bhavan, only to be halted at Keisampat junction by heavy security deployment, including Rapid Action Force personnel.
Protesters, holding placards and chanting slogans, criticized the inaction of the authorities and focused on the urgent need for resettling people displaced during the ethnic violence between the Meiteis and Kuki-Zo groups since May 2023.
