Violence struck Sundergarh, Odisha, on Thursday after a conflict between two groups led to injuries of at least 12 individuals, including police personnel. In response, authorities enacted prohibitory orders and suspended internet services.
The incident unfolded at Regent Market, prompted by a minor disagreement between two young men. Sharp weapons and stone pelting were reported, leading police to use mild force to restore order in the area.
Senior officials, including DIG Brijeh Rai and SP Amritpal Kaur, were on-site, urging residents to maintain peace as ten platoons of police enforced the order. While injuries occurred, no arrests have been made, and the situation remains controlled.
