The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken decisive steps by issuing notices to chief police officials in Uttar Pradesh following reports of a minor girl's abduction and gangrape earlier this month. One suspect is a police sub-inspector, adding urgency to the investigation.
In a separate case, the NHRC is addressing reports of a 15-year-old from Bihar forced into bonded labor after being separated from his father. The boy suffered severe physical abuse, including losing an arm, raising further alarm about human rights practices.
These cases underscore severe human rights concerns, prompting NHRC to demand detailed reports and inquiry results within two weeks. The Commission emphasizes the need for rehabilitation and compensation, highlighting systemic issues within law enforcement and protection frameworks.
