The Chhattisgarh government has taken decisive action against alleged irregularities in its minimum support price paddy procurement drive, suspending 31 officials and terminating the services of several others, according to officials on Friday.
Authorities in Mungeli district have sealed 14 rice mills, seizing over 12,000 quintals of paddy due to serious discrepancies in custom milling operations. FIRs have been filed against three suspended employees, including key personnel accused of fake paddy procurement and shortages during inspections.
The state government maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards procurement violations and is employing GPS tracking and surprise inspections to ensure compliance and transparency throughout the paddy procurement season.
