Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized strong legal action in response to an assault on Assamese student Hiros Jyoti Das at Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU). Five students allegedly assaulted Das, prompting police to apply a non-bailable section, with university administration also responding.

The assault took place on Tuesday at IGNTU's hostel, where Das was questioned about his origin before being attacked. An FIR was registered based on legal and medical assessments, noting injuries to Das's nose and surrounding areas.

Amid ongoing investigations, the accused face multiple charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, highlighting persistent safety concerns within educational institutions. This case follows a December incident of student violence in Uttarakhand, renewing nationwide discussions on campus security.
