A joint committee has been assigned to scrutinize the operations, which many claim breach Environmental Clearance regulations. Concerns highlighted include mining beyond permitted depth, unsafe mineral transportation, and non-compliance with obligatory environmental submissions.

The tribunal's order mandates the committee to inspect the site and furnish a detailed report by March 2026. Another case has also seen the NGT extend compliance deadlines for forest restoration in Dhenkanal district until July 2026.
