In a tragic incident, a bus accident in Jharkhand's Latehar district claimed the lives of 10 individuals, including five women, and injured over 80 others. The bus, carrying wedding guests from Chhattisgarh's Balrampur district, overturned in the Orsa Bangladara valley, causing a devastating loss.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased person, and Rs 50,000 for those injured. Expressing deep sorrow, he reaffirmed the state government's commitment to supporting the victims' families and wished the injured a swift recovery.
Highlighting the need for enhanced road safety, Sai directed officials to provide the best possible medical care for the injured and urged for effective measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
