The Special Operations Group (SOG) has apprehended the technical head of the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSMSSB) and four others on charges of manipulating competitive exam results. This significant development highlights the massive irregularities in recruitment exams held in 2018.
The SOG revealed that the accused, including Sanjay Mathur, were instrumental in tampering with data to alter the scanned OMR sheets' scores, thereby enabling unqualified candidates to pass. The manipulation was uncovered when discrepancies between actual and final marks were found upon re-scanning.
In a striking turn, most of the accused were part of a committee meant to investigate these irregularities, suggesting efforts to influence the inquiry. Authorities continue to probe the extent of the fraud, which involved substantial monetary exchanges with middlemen.
