Kerala Labour Minister V Sivankutty has openly criticized the central government's new labour policies, describing them as anti-worker. He emphasized the state's commitment to exert pressure on the Union government to revoke these unpopular measures.
This statement was in response to CPI(M) MLA P Nandakumar, who raised concerns about the detrimental impact of the new labour codes on job security and service conditions.
Sivankutty provided assurance that Kerala will not comply with the Centre's anti-labour stance. He reiterated a promise to establish a committee dedicated to reviewing the state's response to these central mandates, which are seen as prioritizing corporate benefits over worker rights.
