The officials did ​not offer details about the closed-door discussions ‍between U.S. General Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Eyal ⁠Zamir, ‌the ⁠Israeli armed forces chief of staff. The meeting ‍has not been previously reported.
