Rajasthan's Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Sumit Godara, declared that 841 new fair price shops are set to open statewide. Currently, 442 shops are advancing in the selection process, while 399 are still underway. In Chittorgarh district specifically, 15 more have been sanctioned, despite previous shortcomings in shop openings.
During Question Hour, Godara emphasized the state's proactive approach compared to the previous budget's failure to meet its target. District collectors now have the discretion to open shops even with fewer than the minimum 500 ration cards to better serve communities.
Simultaneously, Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat pledged commitment to resolving Ajmer's flooding crisis. A comprehensive project report will address the flow area of the Luni River and potential improvements in utilizing treated sewage water from Ana Sagar Lake to prevent waterlogging.
