In a ceremony marking International Women's Day, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu honored several women for their outstanding contributions to various fields. Highlighting their role in the state's social development, Sukhu praised the achievements that are shaping a brighter future for Himachal Pradesh.

Among those recognized were Priyanka Verma, the Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner, for advancing women's empowerment, and mountaineer Kritika Sharma for her impressive ascent of Mount Everest. Megha Singh Kanwar was also celebrated for topping the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Examination-2025.

In addition, Sukhu handed ownership rights to 28 families under the Forest Rights Act and announced financial assistance through various welfare schemes. The event also included initiation and groundbreaking ceremonies for 17 development projects, totaling Rs 190 crore in investments.
