Rights groups have criticized the Islamic Republic for allegedly using these arrests as leverage to gain concessions from other nations, a claim Tehran denies. Additionally, Iran's Police Chief Ahmadreza Radan stated that 81 individuals have been detained for purportedly sharing sensitive information with hostile foreign media and entities.
