Supreme Court Stands Firm on Tirumala Laddu Controversy

The Supreme Court rejected a plea on Friday that aimed to initiate actions against people spreading alleged misinformation about the Tirumala laddu controversy.
On October 4, 2024, an independent five-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) was tasked with probing allegations of animal fat being used in preparing Tirupati laddus, addressing sentiments of millions. The court underscored its role as apolitical ground.
The bench, comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi, highlighted that a criminal case is underway and urged those with relevant information to assist the investigation.
