West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Friday the establishment of new cultural and development boards for five distinct communities within the state. This initiative seeks to protect their rights and promote socio-economic growth.
Ahead of the state assembly elections, Banerjee stated, "These boards will support the Munda (ST), Kora (ST), Dom (SC), Kumbhakar (OBC), and Sadgope (OBC) communities in safeguarding their unique languages and traditions while providing better education, healthcare, and employment opportunities."
Since assuming office, Banerjee's government has formed several boards to support weaker communities. With elections expected in April, the TMC is pushing for a fourth consecutive term by promoting inclusive progress and community support.
