A man in Surat, Gujarat, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife by shoving her onto the tracks in front of an approaching train at Mulund station in Mumbai. Law enforcement revealed on Tuesday that 42-year-old Rajukumar Gupta, an electrician, vanished with his younger son following Saturday's tragic event.
The victim, identified as Pushpa Gupta, 36, had frequent disputes with her husband, prompting her brother, Kamlesh Kumar Gupta, to intervene by coming to Mumbai to take his sister and her elder son back to Uttar Pradesh. Trouble escalated on Saturday with a heated argument, and Pushpa even lodged a police complaint.
Afterwards, Kamlesh, Pushpa, and her 15-year-old son headed to Mulund station, but Kamlesh, employed in the armed forces, had forgotten his ID and returned with his nephew to collect it. Rajukumar then locked them inside and proceeded to the station, where he allegedly committed the murder. The police eventually captured him in Surat using CCTV footage to assist in his location.
