More than 36,000 Palestinians in the West Bank were forcibly displaced over a year, according to a United Nations report. The report claims Israeli settlement expansion is a key factor behind the rising displacement, painting a grim picture of the ongoing conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.
The U.N. says the situation has been exacerbated by an increase in settler violence, with 1,732 incidents reported, up from 1,400 previously recorded. This violence is described as coordinated and largely unchallenged, highlighting a concerning trend in the region.
Israeli authorities, however, dispute the U.N. findings, questioning the credibility of the organization. Meanwhile, fears are growing internationally as the report suggests these actions may amount to ethnic cleansing, echoing similar concerns previously raised.
