In a brazen daylight heist, a group of five masked gunmen stormed the Bank of Maharashtra in Singrauli district, Madhya Pradesh, making off with Rs 14 lakh. The swift 20-minute robbery left staff and patrons in shock as the criminals threatened them at gunpoint.
According to Kotwali police station in-charge Ashok Singh Parihar, four armed men entered the bank while one stood guard outside with a pistol. The robbers held the bank manager at gunpoint and seized a box containing the cash, ransacking lockers before fleeing.
Eyewitnesses recounted tense moments inside the bank as shots were fired and employees were assaulted. District authorities, led by Superintendent of Police Manish Khatri, have issued a high alert and initiated district-wide blockades and checkpoints, while police scrutinize CCTV footage to apprehend the suspects.
