Crackdown on Illegal Tobacco Trade: Beed Operation

In a significant crackdown on the illegal tobacco trade, police in Maharashtra's Beed district successfully busted an unlawful gutka manufacturing unit this Saturday. Operating from a room in front of his home in Georai town, Javed Nizam Shaikh was allegedly at the helm of this illicit venture.

During the raid, law enforcement officials seized a substantial quantity of prohibited flavoured tobacco and betel nut mixtures, along with a variety of other banned ingredients commonly used in gutka production. Additionally, machines specifically designed for manufacturing gutka were apprehended, highlighting the scale of the operation.

The seized items and equipment were valued at approximately Rs 2.12 lakh, underscoring the financial impact of the illegal trade. The arrest of Javed Nizam Shaikh marks a critical triumph in the ongoing efforts to curb illegal tobacco manufacturing in the region.
