In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, Odisha Police dismantled an IPL betting racket in Rajgangpur, located in Sundargarh district. Five individuals were apprehended during the raid, according to an official statement released on Sunday.
The operation was based on credible intelligence inputs that led a police team to conduct a raid in the area. During the operation, officers seized Rs 6 lakh in cash and froze funds amounting to Rs 17.61 lakh that had been deposited in a bank account linked to the illegal betting activities.
Apart from the cash seizures, the police also confiscated five mobile phones used by the accused to run the illegal betting network and collect money from various people. Officials confirmed that a case has been registered at the Rajgangpur police station, and further investigation is ongoing.
