The Sudanese government has leveled allegations against Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates, claiming responsibility for recent drone attacks targeting sites in Sudan, such as the Khartoum airport. These accusations come as the country's military remains locked in a conflict with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
The Sudanese military claimed that evidence pointed to drone strikes originating from Bahir Dar airport in Ethiopia, allegedly supported by the United Arab Emirates. The Sudanese government has voiced repeated concerns over the UAE's support for the RSF, amid ongoing warfare that has increasingly relied on drone technology.
Recent drone attacks, including those on Khartoum and surrounding states like Kordofan, have shattered the relative calm that had been restored to the region. As tensions escalate, the Sudanese foreign ministry has indicated a readiness to respond to any further aggression, challenging the international parties believed to be influencing the conflict.
